Over 90% of the property's I have tested have had a fault with the installation which under fault conditions could be potentially dangerous. With a full periodic inspection everything connected to the installation is tested. The wiring is tested for insulation resistance, earth fault loop impedance and much much more with a detailed report outlying any defects and a recommended course of action. An installation should be periodically inspected and tested and a report on its condition obtained, as prescribed in BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations published by the Institution of Electrical Engineers. We use the latest 16th edition test kits to carry out the tests on the installation, then we use the latest software to analyse the results and produce a certificate.
